2004/10/22:
Basing on the exchange projects in 2000 and 2001 the Michaelstein Chamber Choir presents its russian exchange projects on the "Fair of the Youth and Childrens organizations of the Euro-Arctic Region" in Murmansk (October 2004) on a stand [banner]. Afterwards the next big concert exchange project in 2007 will be prepared in personal talks and a conference.

2004/07/05:
Last week the Michaelstein Chamber Choir has returned from it's concert tour to Israel. In a friendly cooperation with our friends from the Chorus Musicus Köln the choir concerted in many different cities of Israel together with the Israeli Camerata (Cond. Avner Biron). Not very close to classical music the Israeli audience was very excited after the concerts. The interest in these concerts was huge: nationwide banners, announcements in every important medias and the well known quality of the soloists and ensembles made mostly sold out halls (e.g. three sold out concerts in Tel Aviv). The Jerusalem concert has been live broadcasted by ColHaMusica. After these concerts plans for future cooperation started.


2004/02/03:
After a very successfull year we begin the first half of the new year 2004 with a compact schedule.
Our first program is fresh edited from manuscripts and will performed on March 27th at Michaelstein Monastery. It is cantatas by Telemann, performed together with the Telemannisches Collegium Michaelstein under direction of Ludger Rémy.
With our well known program of Middle German Sacred Music "Es ward eine Stille in dem Himmel" we are guests at the Marktkirche at Eschwege on June 5th.
On the next day the Michaelstein Chamber Choir presents a program of contemporary chorus music from Poland. It is the final concert of the 16th German "ChorFestTage" at Wiesbaden.
In sequence of successfully cooperations in the past, the Michaelstein Chamber Choir (with guests from Chorus Musicus Köln) will be on a 12 day concert tour in Israel. With the Israeli Camerata under the direction of Avner Biron we will perform music for St. Cecilia by Purcell and Haydn at Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Haifa, Carmiel and Rehovot.
Emma Kirkby, the Batzdorfer Hofkapelle and the Michaelstein Chamber Choir will give a concert together on August 8th at Augsburg. On the program is the "Ode for St. Cecilia's Day" by Händel and two Bach Cantatas. Guest conductor ist David Fisher.
Directly after that concert the Chamber Choir will make a world premiere a cappella recording of a large set of Middle German motets. All motets have never been printed before and exist as manuscripts only.
In september we will do a second CD production with cantatas by Telemann.

2003/12/14:
New rediscovered music by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach was performed on last Saturday, December 13th 2003, at Michaelstein Monastery. His "Weihnachts-Quartal-Stück" and two songs for choir and orchestra as well as Telemann's "Christmas Oratorio", which was world premiere recorded by us in 1995, made an impressive concert.

2003/12/05:
Over the last weekend the Michaelstein Chamber Choir performed in Oelsnitz, Hof and Altenburg. The well visited concerts with the title "Denk nicht, der Herr sei noch fern" were especially arranged for the begin of advent time; Motets and Cantatas from the 17th and 18th century from Germany, Italy and France with accompaniment by baroque instruments (Violins, Viola da Gamba, Lute). 2003/10/30:
"A concert of superlatives" was the headline of the Harzer Volksstimme in resonance of the latest concert at the Michaelstein Monastery on October 25th 2003. Read the complete article in German at Presse.

2003/05/09:
In sequence to the successful cooperation in november 2002 with the Chorus Musicus Köln (Christoph Spering) will follow a new joint project in June 2003. The Chorus Musicus Köln has invited the Michaelstein Chamber Choir to join their Israel tour. Together with the Israel Camerata under the direction of Avner Biron music by Cimarosa (Requiem), Takemitsu (Requiem) and Caldara (Missa Dolorosa) will be performed in Rehovot, Tela Aviv, Jerusalem, Haifa and Carmiel.

2003/04/24:
Concert datas for 1st weekend in advent 2003 are online now. The Michaelstein Chamber Choir presents a program liturgical designed for advent 1st with motets and cantatas of the 17th/18th century from Germany, Italy and France for soloists, choir and baroque instruments. The concerts with the title "Denk nicht, der Herr sei noch fern" (Think not, the Lord might be far) will take place in Oelsnitz/V (St. Jakobi Church), Hof/Saale (St. Marien Church) und Altenburg (Bach hall at the castle)

This week all sound samples have been added in "ogg-format" too. This file format offers much better sound quality at the same file size as mp3 does.

2003/04/08:
At the moment the Michaelstein Chamber Choir prepares for every years Klosterfest (monastery festival). The choir performs at three concerts: Soloists of the choir with an actor perform mystcal texts and music by Hildegard von Bingen. After that the choir invites for an entertaining programm with choir lyric and international folksongs from Danmark, Sweden, England, Estonia, America, Russia and Cuba. Finally there is an cooperation concert with the Telemannisches Collegium Michaelstein.

2003/03/20:
The Michaelstein Chamber Choir has been invited to perform at the opening ceremony of the XXXI. Scientific Working Convention at Kloster Michaelstein on May 9th 2003. this years theme is "Machines and Mechanisms in Music". Fitting that topic the choir will perform a madrigal by Allessandro Striggio in comparison with a historic music machine playing the same piece from a restored drum.

2002/09/22:
The final concert of the Oratorio-Academy in October, 20th, 2002 (Kloster Michaelstein, 8 pm) has changed in program and time: now 5 pm, same place. Now the program consists of vocal and instrumental pieces of the 17th century - songs by Theile and works by Rosenmüller. Musicians are the Michaelstein Chamber Choir, the Telemannisches Collegium Michaelstein, Ludger Rémy, Sebastian Göring and some soloists.


2002/08/19:
A special concert weekend from many points of view have been the last days, August 2002, 17th/18th. On the Chamber Choirs concert schedule were the opening concert of the Uckermärkische Musikwochen 2002 in Angermünde and an a cappella concert in Templin. As musical partners the Michaelstein Chamber Choir invited reputed soloists (Hedwig und Henning Voss, Andreas Post, Marek Rzepka und Stephan Heinemann), the baroque orchestra "Collegium 1704" from Praha and Ludger Rémy to perform the Kapitänsmusiken 1724 and 1730 by Georg Philipp Telemann.
In fact of the overflow of water of the river Elbe, both, the orchestra and the choir, did hard exertions to realize the concerts. But, both concerts have been very good. The opening concert has been broadcasted live by Deutschlandradio Berlin and Radio France, and has been recorded by stations of the EBU from Danmark, Estonia, Finland, Norway, UK and Austria.

2002/07/22:
From July 2002, 18th-21st, the Michaelstein Chamber Choir was guest at the 3rd international days of sacred choir music in Rottenburg/Neckar. Every 3 years 12 choirs from all over the world will be invited to take part on this event and present the sacred music tradition of their country. In 2002 the choirs came from Belgium, Bulgaria, Danmark, Germany, Japan, Jugoslavia, Russia, Sweden, Czech Republic und Ukraina
. To fulfill the severely programatic conception the Michaelstein Chamber Choir presented exclusively music by middle-german composers in an impressively concert at the Wallfahrtskirche Weggental. (see details at Press)
